Hidden splendours

Facibelle

Highest point: 3,900 feet. 2,400 feet up gradient. 5-hour walk.

Starting from one of the many amazing geological sites of the area, you will start climbing through Mediterranean box-woods to reach an Alpine forest of larche and beech, up to a hermitage place still inhabited since very ancient times.

Afterwards, you will be going down toward the spectacular slice of rock which is the "Voile de Facibelle", standing in balance at the bottom of the narrow dale like a weird sail.

Up and down again in colourful mountains, through fossils and lost hamlets, until you reach the end of a special day.

The Monges

Highest point: 6,350 feet. 3,000 feet up gradient. 6-hour walk.

After reaching the Mongolian steppes from the country of lavender, you will start climbing to the summit, surrounded by wild and splendid sites. Up there you will find a small plateau, overlooking the whole of Provence.

And you will go down on the opposite side, walking through pastures, bushes and remains of ancient activities.
